Yu Tsai, an amazing photographer & film maker shot an 18-page spread for Muse, a Milan based Fashionart magazine. The beautifully shot and lit spread features Lindsay Lohan, Petey Wright and Sofia Boutella in one sexy photo shoot inspired by Kate Moss and Johnny Depp circa early 1990s

”Candy” is the first fashion magazine ever completely dedicated to celebrating transvestism, transexuality, cross dressing and androgyny, and it was launched last night in London. A limited edition of 1000 copies, the publication is promising to shake the fashion world, and pushes people to take on the persona of what they always wanted to be. Taro Horiuchi 2010 S/S Collection
I came across this video of Taro’s collection, which I liked – the video and the collection both. Daniel Sannwald and Taro Horiuchi seem like brothers connected in some ethereal way through the familia of artists. Taro’s post apocalyptic shades of grey and Daniel’s figurative, abstract visuals go well together to say the least. Taro Horiuchi | bio

Alexander Wang, winner of the 10th Swiss Textiles Award 2009
The Swiss Textiles Award has grown to become one of the world’s best endowed and most celebrated fashion prizes for talented young designers. The prize money is 100,000 Euros. This sum is intended to provide substantial support for the development of an international career and is not paid out in cash. In cooperation with TVS Swiss Textile Federation, Alexander Wang will decide which specific activities he intends to finance with the money (making his next collection, show production, press relations etc.). Some of the amount (10,000 Euros) will be used to purchase Swiss fabrics.
Alexander Wang was born in San Francisco and studied at Parsons in New York. Since 2007 he has been showing his latest collections at New York Fashion Week with growing popularity. He was praised from the outset as a boy wonder and soon joined the top ranks of New York designers. Last year he won the Vogue CFDA Fund Prize (1 million!) and at the beginning of this year he was presented with the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers in America) Award as the «Women’s Wear Newcomer». Wang is known for his edgy, somewhat masculine womenswear designs, and his fashion shows are renowned as being a highlight of New York Fashion Week. After designing a Fall 2008 collection using black as the predominant color, he designed his Spring 2009 collection using bright colors such as orange, dusty purple, aqua and hot pink, and proclaimed, “They wanted color, they got color!”. His Fall 2009 was met with wide acclaim. Although he reverted to using mainly black fabrics, he was praised for showing great tailoring skills. sources: swisstextiles.ch & wiki

Fashion World: Designing for Rihanna & Siouxsie Sioux
People have this vision of the fashion world being pretty slack, but nothing could be futher from the truth. It’s like any competitive biz – hard work, and of course location cubed. Check out Pam Hogg / x-rocker turned fashionista. This is and indie gal to be sure.
Pam had a meteoric rise to fame after her studies of Fine Art and Printed Textiles at the Glasgow School of Art, where she won the Newbury Medal of Distinction, the Frank Warner Memorial Medal, the Leverhulme Scholarship and the Royal Society of Arts Bursary, which subsequently took her on to further study at the Royal College of Art in London, where she gained her Masters of Art degree. She joined her first band ‘Rubbish’ at the end of the seventies regularly supporting The Pogues in their infancy. [wiki]

Banshee queen Siouxsie Sioux made an appearance at the U.K. premiere of Pedro Almodovar's new film 'Volver,' alongside fashion designer Pam Hogg.
(Sounds like Rihanna is dumping her bf, or at least she better!)
Hogg opened a shop in London for one month during London Fashion Week (smart gal).
Things keep popping up here in London on the fashion front. We have recently reported sponsorships, store openings, and store renovations. And today it was announced that Pam Hogg will be staging a return to the catwalk during London Fashion Week. You know it is big because not only is she having her much-anticipated show, she is also having a special boxed-set of printed China mugs for sale at Dover Street Market, AND she has been given all the windows – front and back – at Browns to display her rockstar chic wears. Yes, this is big. Hogg was a rockstar once herself, performing in various bands since the seventies and even was the opening act for Debbie Harry before she found her way into fashion design. And current fans include Naomi Campbell, Rihanna, Roisin Murphy, and Daisy Lowe. But curiously, while New York Fashion Week is having shows and parties cut left and right due to economic circumstances, one has to wonder where London is going with all of this fashion growth, and how long will it actually last.
