Band Of Skulls

I’m listening to a track called ‘Fires’ by Band of Skulls and it’s a fresh soundmix of that clean | dirty | clean thang. The sound and the video are impeccable in fact. I like that there’s more spaces – even the dirty parts are minimalistic. Also, the video is crisp and it’s shot from the perspective of ‘the thing itself‘, which is rare for ‘official’ band videos, because it is the most difficult style of photography to do, without the end result being simply boring.

“I listen to it at least once a week,” she says. “It kicks ass.”

The three members of Band of Skulls, Russell Marsden (guitar & vocals), Emma Richardson (bass & vocals) & Matt Hayward (drums), first met at college and quickly discovered that having two lead singers and three songwriters in a band was always going to present unlimited possibilities.

Caitlin Hart

caitlin hart

Caitlin Hart – There isn’t much video available yet on Caitlin, but I really like her songs and style. If you don’t do anything else here, go listen to “Seven Minutes” by Caitlin over on The Sixty-One. If that isn’t a sweet hit song I don’t know what is.

A video by Caitlin Hart performing the song “Love story” by Taylor Swift.

Caitlin story: “Once upon a time in a city filled with smog and lights a girl was born with pink nail polish, long eye lashes, and lots to say. She grew a little and made friends with a chihuahua named Lucho. Together they decided to take over the world. They were both small so they knew no one would ever see it coming. Drinking chai tea lattes, and eating vegan food, they wrote songs about life and love.”
